ELDE 2350 - Motors and Generators Quarter Credit Hour(s): 2.5
Prerequisite(s): ELDE 2120 or OSHA 10-hour certification
This course starts with a discussion of electromagnetism and progresses through the generation of electricity to the use of motors in industry. Single-phase and multiphase AC motors are introduced, as well as synchronous and asynchronous motors. DC series, shunt, and compound motors are introduced. Protection devices are introduced, along with various types of drives and drive circuitry. Students are trained to install, connect, test, evaluate, troubleshoot and repair a variety of motor circuits and controls.
